ABOUT PUNE

Pune is the historical and cultural capital of the State of Maharashtra. Historic seat of the great Maratha empire, Pune was a strong hold of the Peshwas under the illustrated king Maharaja Chatrapati Shivaji's highly distinguished and noble rule in the seventeen century. Pune is also its educational capital. Known as the Queen of Deccan for its quality educational institutions, it attracts academicians and students alike from all across India and also from different parts of the world. At 560 meters above sea level Pune is situated about 160 km south of major city of Mumbai; the commercial capital of India. Its picturesque natural surroundings, pristine weather conditions and cosmopolitan ethos are the major attractions. Since last twenty five years Pune, the second most important and vibrant industrial city developing at faster pace. Pune have emerged as the host destination for investors, multinational companies (MNC), automotive industries, IT and bio-pharma, R&D parks, Defence research laboratories, National Defence Academy, BPOs and academic research organizations.  Pune has established itself as an automobile and engineering R&D hub as well. Pune is easily accessible by air and train from all the major cities in India like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, etc. Pune is also well connected by international standard road network to cities in India.
